11 inch square sponge cake

by tina

I cant find a recipe for this size sponge cake.

From the editor:

Hi Tina,

An 11" square cake pan has a volume of about 14 cups and you want to fill it about half way for even baking. So, you'll need about 7-8 cups of cake batter.

Most cake recipes produce 7-9 cups of batter, which is enough for two 9" round pans. So you want to make 1 1/2 to 2 times an average sponge or other cake recipe.

This means you can use any sponge recipe. Just increase the amount of the ingredients.
