About the white cake recipe.

I am looking to make this cake this coming weekend. I am wondering.. When it says 1 10" cake, then it says 3 layers. I'm just wondering what exactly that means.. A 10" round cake.. that can be divided into three layers easily? I need to make a fairly large cake so i need to figure out the proportions.
Thanks!

Splitting Cake Layers
by: Michelle (admin)

Hi Susan,

Yes, it means a 10" cake, split into three layers. In the instructions you'll notice it says to divide the batter 1/3 into one pan and 2/3 into another for baking. This is just so that you only have to tort (split the layers) once.

Hope this helps.
