Take Me Out to the Ballgame....

This Baseball Cake is a fairly easy boy's birthday cake.

Materials:
-4 boxes of cake mix, French Vanilla was used for this cake
-Vanilla flavored white melting chocolate disks
-Vanilla flavored red melting chocolate disks
-Alphabet & number candy mold
-Graham crackers or box or graham crumbs
-4 containers icing- I used whipped vanilla flavored
-Red Pull and Peel Twizzlers
-Sheet cake pan
-8x8 2 inch deep square pan
-Large metal mixing bowl, about 7 inches in diameter.

Ingredients for the bottom sheet cake:
- 2 boxes of french vanilla cake mix, baked according to directions on the box. Pour both boxes of made mix into the bottom of a greased sheet cake pan and bake at 350` for 50 minutes.

Bake and cool. After cooled, remove from pan and place onto a flat cake sheet. Freeze overnight. After frozen, crumb coat with green tinted icing. I used two containers of icing for a sure enough cover. I used whipped vanilla flavored icing and used wilton's icing gel in green. After the cake is crumb coated, freeze for 1 hour, then smooth icing with a spatula. It helps to wet your spatula at times to make icing more pliable. After smoothed, attach a grass icing tip to a icing bag, fill with the same green icing used for the sheet cake and pipe grass all around bottom and top outer sides of cake as shown. Put aside

Ingredients for field cake:
- 1 box french vanilla cake mix, baked according to directions on box. Pour into a 8x8 2inch deep square greased pan and bake at 350` for 45 minutes.

Bake and cool. After cooled, remove from pan and freeze overnight. After frozen, crumb coat the cake with whipped icing tinted light brown- color consistency of dirt. After crumb coated, cover with crushed graham cracker crumbs over entire cake. place cake in center of the sheet cake, turning cake at an angle so it lies as a diamond on top of the sheet cake. use left over green icing to pipe grass around bottom edge of the "dirt cake". Use 4 round chocolate melting disks for the bases at each edge of the cake. To make sure the bases stick, squirt a small dot of icing on the underneath side of the bases and press into dirt cake corners. Set aside

Ingredients for the Baseball cake:
- 1 boxes of french vanilla cake mix
Bake according to the directions on the box. Pour into greased 7 inch metal mixing bowl. Bake at 350` for 30-40 minutes. You will know that it is done when you insert a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean.

Bake and cool. After cooled, remove from the bowl, turning it with base down. Freeze overnight. After frozen, crumb coat with remaining container of whipped vanilla icing. Freeze one hour, and smooth icing with spatula until you achieve a smooth white ball. Place ball in the center of the "dirt cake".Use round tip to pipe small dots around base of ball. Use red pull and peel Twizzlers to make the laces of the ball. Melt baking chocolates and pour into appropriate molds for name and age. freeze for 5 minutes and remove from molds placing them in desired area on cake for decoration.
