This was a really special cake for me to make. I made it for my uncle's birthday BBQ and thought it would fit in perfectly.
It's my first elaborate cake but it will not be my last. Since it was my first, I did make it from a mix. It was chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and fresh strawberries. I also used the ganache to frost the cake. The burgers are rice-krispy treats covered in chocolate and a piece of yellow fondant on top. The corn on the cob is made from a rice-krispy base covered with cream cheese frosting and yellow jelly beans.
I also made vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting since not everyone is a big fan of chocolate.
I had a lot of fun making this cake and it was a big surprise for everyone. They all enjoyed it very much.
