bike decoration

by lisa

I have been decorating cakes for about 5 month so I'm very new to it all.

I am making my step dad a cake for his 65th. And he loves motor bikes, especially Harley Davidsons.

Please could you help me with a easy, simple bike decoration to put on top of a cake?

Thank you,

As you are quite new to cake decorating it may be worth contacting your local sugarcraft / cake decorating shop to see if they have a tin you could hire - wilton do a morotbike tin which looks more like a harley than a 'british' superbike. This might be easier than trying to make a stand up bike!

Harley Cake

Hi Lisa,

A simple way to add some Harley flare to your cake would be to use the chocolate techniques for the police shield from this coffee & donuts cake to replicate a Harley Davidson logo. You could make two and stand them, back-to-back, on top of the cake for a more 3-D look, or make one and lay it flat on top of the cake.

Good luck and don't forget to come back and show off your cake. I love to see what my visitors have been up to.
