buttercream filling storage

I wish to bake a sponge cake for a friends birthday in three days time. I intend to fill the cake with buttercream and jam and cover the cake with fondant icing. Does the cake have to be kept in a fridge given it will not be needed for three days?
From the editor:
Hi Annie,
Once a cake is covered in fondant, it shouldn't be refigerated. So you're fine to store the cake at cool room temperature for that amount of time.
