Can I bake the filling right in a cupcake?

I am making cupcakes and wanted to have a filling. Would it work to "drop" a teaspoon of the raspberry white chocolate filling into the cupcake before baking (like you would a black bottom cupcake)?

From the editor:

Hi Regina,

No, it wouldn't work the same way. The filling in a black bottom cupcake contains egg, which helps to stabilize it during baking.

The easiest way to add the filling to a regular cupcake is with a bismarck tip (part of the Wilton 12 Piece Cupcake Decorating Set). It's a long, narrow decorating tip that's designed to inject filling into donuts and other pastries.

Fill a decorating bag, fitted with this tip, with your filling. Push the tip into the center of a cupcake and pipe filling into the space left by the tip as you pull it out of the cupcake. You can achieve a similar result with a #12 round tip too.

Simple!
