Can I use the coconut cream cheese filling recipe to frost a cake?
I am baking a tiger birthday cake for my friend, and am making a butter cake with coconut cream cheese filling, but I was wondering if I can use the coconut cream cheese filling for frosting as well, since I would be coloring the frosting orange, black and white?
My problem is whether the frosting will set too creamy to soft.

I wouldn't recommend using the filling for this application since you want a nice smooth finish for your design and the coconut will make this impossible.
If you would like to use the same recipe for both purposes you could mix up the required amount and divide the mix. In one bowl add the coconut for the filling and in the other leave it plain or if you still want the flavor, add a little coconut extract, to taste.
