Card Cake

Cards Tonight?
This Card Cake was made for a very good friend (second mom) who LOVES card night.
I hand painted the cards on gum paste with vodka and gel food coloring. The backs were made by painting the "cards" red and stamping a paper towel.
The roses, shapes and bow were made of fondant. The top layer was chocolate cream cheese pound cake with Bailey's ganache buttercream icing covered in ganache and the bottom cake is a cream cheese pound cake with strawberry rhubarb filling (all Michelle's recipes). The cakes WERE delicious.. the ganache was awesome under the fondant. I love this site! Thanks everyone for all your advice, my cakes keep getting better and better and it's all thanks to your advice!!

Hi Lucie,
Those hand painted cards are spectacular. Beautiful work. Thanks so much for sharing the instructions and inspiration for your Card Cake with us.
