Chocolate Ganache Filling

I was wanting to use choc ganache as a filling for the layer cake I am making.

The recipe calls for heavy whipping cream. Does this mean the cake has to be kept cold? If so, fondant can not,what would be a good filling to use with a chocolate cake, pound cake and butter cake?

I do not want anything that has to be kept cold. Thanks

Hi Tabbatha,

I have used the chocolate ganache as filling before and had the cake out of the fridge for 24hrs. I wouldn't recommend any longer than that.

A great alternative is the chocolate fudge buttercream, which can be out of the refrigerator without any problems.
