christmas cake decorating

I need to make a holiday cake and am thinking about doing a light blue cake with snowflakes on it using gumpaste cutouts. do you have any suggestions, also I was thinking about putting a couple of xmas trees on it using ice cream cones do you think the green would not match it?
From the editor:
The blue and green would be nice together. Alternatively, you could go with a white on white look for the snowflakes, which will really highlight your Christmas trees. To do this, make the snowflake cutouts and paint them with luster dust for a shimmery effect, before you place them on a white background of either fondant or buttercream.
Don't forget to take lots of pictures so you can come back here and showw off your cake.
Good luck!
