From the editor:
Hi Christina,
For cake dummies, mix up this quick all shortening buttercream recipe to practice with:
12 ounces shortening
1/4 cup milk
4-6 cups of powdered sugar
1. Beat shortening until fluffy.
2. Add 4 cups of the powdered sugar and beat until fully incorporated.
3. Adjust consistency using the milk and extra powdered sugar, until you have what you like.
This will last a long time and is less expensive than all butter butercream. Great for practicing new ideas and easy to clean off the cake dummies with warm, soapy water.
Good luck.
