Easter Basket Cake
by Cassie Lauren
(Marquette, Michigan )
I used a chocolate cake for this Easter Basket Cake.
I followed the Basic Cake Making Directions, and used a bundt pan.
After the cake was cooled, I took it out of the pan, and filled the middle of the cake with jelly beans (anything would work though, really- jam, frosting, chocolate chips, etc. etc... just so you have something in the middle so your frosting doesn't cave in.
then I did a basic basket-weave of light purple( I tried to make brown, but that was the result haha) buttercream frosting around the outside, and filled the top in with green frosting, and then I died coconut with green food coloring and added that to the top, as well as garnishing the outskirts of the cake.
the handle for the cake is made out of wire, and pipe cleaner, and tied with ribbon... simple, yet adorable!... (and yummy I might add!)
