I'm making a huge cake for father's day.
The pan is 14x12 square and I need to know how much cake mix I will need?

Cake Batter for a 14" x 12" pan.

Hi Tina,

You will need about 1 1/2 - 2 box cake mixes, or 1 1/2 to 2 full recipes of any of the cakes from this site.

If you're using a pan that large, consider using a heating to core to maintain even baking throughout. If you don't have a heating core, you can remove the top and bottom from a clean, small can (tomato paste can or similar) and place it in the middle of the cake pan when baking. Pour the cake batter into the pan, spray the can with non-stick cooking spray inside and out, then push the can in to the batter until it sits level on the bottom of the cake pan. Gently remove the core of cake from the can after it has cooled for about 15 minutes and replace it in the cake tier when you're ready to fill and decorate the cake.

Regards,
