Fondant and Jello

I am trying to make a jello scene in a fishbowl. Can I make creatures out of fondant to put in the jello after it sets part way or will that cause it to start to dissolve?

From the editor:

Hi,

If you're only going to be putting the fondant figures in to the jello 24 hours or less before serving the cake, it will be fine.

If you plan to make it any further ahead than that, I would recommend using modeling chocolate to make the figures.
