Fondont or buttercream?
First of all thank you for taking the time to help me. I am doing a wrestling cake for my nephew and my question is should I use fondant or icing to cover it. He wants it orange instead of the original colors of a ring. I am using fondant for the post and ropes too. Thanks again.

The choice of fondant or buttercream is a completely personal one. The choice will depend on whether taste is more important than looks.
If taste is more important, go with a real buttercream, like Swiss meringue buttercream. You can check out the recipe in the June 2010 issue of "Too Nice To Slice" newsletter. You can still use fondant for all the accents, like posts and ropes even if you decide to use buttercream.
If looks are more important, go with fondant.
