Graduation Cake

Twilght Cake for a special grad.

Twilght Cake for a special grad.

This Twilight graduation cake is my first cake ever presented at a party!

It was a triple chocolate fudge Betty Crocker cake mix (the grad LOVES chocolate). I made a chocolate buttercream frosting.

I torted both cakes and put a layer of buttercream. I colored the fondant black for the bottom layer and the chess board. I used ribbon around the cakes and pieced the chess board together with black and white fondant. Then added the chess pieces and the apple. It was a big hit! Everyone was asking "who made that beautiful cake?".

From the editor:

Hi Dana,

Really nice job on the pieced fondant chess board.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Regards,
Michelle (editor)
