Hamburger Cakes

I made these mini Hamburger Cakes after being inspired by the fabulous hamburger cake on this site! I didn't need to feed so many people so I made a cupcake version! So easy and pretty quick to do!
First I made a half-batch of yellow cupcakes and a half- batch of chocolate cupcakes. (I used the recipes on this site...makes 12 mini hamburgers)
While the cupcakes cooled, I made up a small batch of butter cream icing, coloring some green for the lettuce and some yellow for the mustard. I also followed the directions on this site for the chocolate flow tomatoes.
After the cupcakes were set up, I cut them into thirds. Then the assembly began:
--Using Wilton Tip 103, I used a ribbon-like technique to make a ring of lettuce on the bottom third of the yellow cupcake.
--I set a third of the chocolate cupcake on top for the meat.
--Next I looped the yellow frosting through Wilton Tip 2 over the side of the chocolate cupcake for the mustard.
--I set the color flow tomatoes on top, hanging slightly over the edge to be visible.
--Next, I set the top third of the yellow cupcake on top and secured it with a Fancy Toothpick.
I took them to a small backyard BBQ get together and everybody loved them! Just a smaller version of the impressive hamburger cake =)
