help with a time line for three tiered cake

Hi there,

I would like to make my daughters birthday cake for her,she will be 5 in June.

I would like all the pinks, fairies and all the pretty things for that wow from people.

I want one cake to be chocolate, another to be cheese cake and then the other maybe vanilla.

Where do I start as I want them to all come together?

Thank you.

From the editor:

Here's a possible time line for your cake project:

Two days before the party

Do all the baking.
Tort, fill and crumb coat all the cakes and refrigerate overnight.

Early, the day before the party

Frost the cakes in three shades of pink and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the frosting firm up. While the cakes are in the refigerator, make up all your fairy decorations using the chocolate drawing technique and put aside to set.

Later, the day before the party

Insert cake dowels on the lower two tiers and stack the layers. Secure with one long dowel through the center from top to bottom.

Add a trim around each tier to hide the joins.

Add any piped decorations like swirls etc.

Add chocolate fairies to each tier of the cake.

Day of the party

Enjoy the party - all the hard work is done!
