how do i make black modeling chocolate?

by Caroline

love the idea of replacing fondant with modeling chocolate, what do u use to color it? I need to cover a cake in black. Thanks for your help.

From the editor:

Hi Caroline,

For black, start with dark chocolate and add black candy color or powdered food color before you add the corn syrup in the recipe. Remember that colors intensify over time, so if it doesn't seem black enough today, it usually will tomorrow.

Good luck.
