How do I perfect a box cake?

What do I add to the box cake to make it taste like it came from the bakery? I've been to a local bakery and saw box after box of Pillsbury mix and this baker makes THE BEST cakes... what is she adding to it??

I've use pilsbury cake mixes for the last 30 years and don't add anything and everyone loves my cakes.

I have used sour cream before to help add moisture to the finished cake.
