How do I stick fondant to wood?
by Lucie Berube

I am making a 3D Cessna 185 plane. We have made a "T" shaped base and will be putting wheels on the base. I will need to cover the bottom of the wings and body with fondant. The base is made of wood that I have sanded and rounded the edges on.
Now I need to know.. do I paint the wood or leave it natural? and what do I use to make the fondant stick to wood? Ganache? Buttercream?
Any help will be GREAT.. once I have the cake made I will post it.
Thanks again for all your help and recipes and hints... I couldn't do any of these wonderful cakes without all your help!
Lucie
From the editor:
Hi Lucie,
You could use buttercream to stick the fondant to the wood. You could also paint the wood with corn syrup, piping gel or water to make the fondant stick.
Good luck.
Can't wait to see the finished cake.
