How do I stop crumbs getting in my icing?

Can you help me with the icing because every time I put the icing on, crumbs keeps getting every where?
From the editor:
Hi Brooke,
This is easily fixed. What you need is a crumb coat, which is just a thin coat of un-tinted buttercream that goes on the cake first, to set the crumbs. Check out this crumb coat tutorial to see how to do it.
Make sure to refrigerate your cake for at least two hours, preferably overnight, after applying the crumb coat, to let it set.
