how long should bake dome cakes?

by Jacqui

Do you bake the dome cakes for the same mount of time? I want to make the dinosaur cake. I have never baked in a dome pan.

From the editor:

Hi Jacqui,

Any cake baked in a dome pan or a bowl will require more time than a regular round or square pan.

Bake at the same temperature as usual and check the cake after 45 minutes for signs of being done, then every 10 minutes until cake tester inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

Don't forget to take lots of pictures so you can come back and share your cake with other visitors to the site. I love to see what my visitors have been up to.

Good luck.

Regards,
Michelle (editor)
