How to bake a bowl cake
by MJ
(Baltimore)
I have a recipe that calls for 2 baked dome cakes (baked in a 1 1/2 qt bowl). Do I use one cake mix per dome cake or split one cake mix between the two? Also, what temp should I bake at and for how long?
Thank you!

Hi MJ,
You'll probably get two bowl cakes that size from one cake mix.
Bake at 350 degrees F. The baking time is much longer than for regular cake pans. Start checking the cakes after 45 minutes, and every 10 minutes after that. It may take a little over an hour to fully bake, so don't worry if it seems to be taking a long time.
