how to travel two hours with a decorated cake?
We are traveling two hours to our sons b-day party and I am not sure the best way to keep it from melting, any suggestions. Thank you.

From the editor:
Hi Donna,
Short of having the cake travel in a portable fridge, here are a few things you can do:
1. Refrigerate the cake overnight so everything has a chance to firm up.
2. Add extra support if it's a tiered cake. Use 7-9 cake dowels per tier and one long dowel through the center, hammered into the cake board, to prevent any slippage in hot weather.
3. For travel, place the cake in an upside down 58 quart (55 liter) plastic storage tub. Place the cake on the lid, with a piece of rubber shelf liner under the cake board, and snap the tub into place. Wrap the tub in towels to insulate it and crank place out of direct sunlight, if possible.
Good luck.
