Ideas for a poinsettia cake pan?

by Lora

It looks like an poinsettia cake pan but could look like a large Spring bloom if decorated correctly. I just need some help with those decorating ideas.

From the editor:

Hi Lora,

Here are a few quick ideas to get you started:

1. color the petals deep yellow/orange and turn the poinsettia into a sunflower. Pipe chocolate dots with a #12 round decorating tip to fill in the center.

2. color the petals white for a daisy and fill the center with yellow dots, piped with a #10 round decorating tip. Sprinkle yellow sanding sugar over the center dots to add texture and complete the daisy details.

3. make it a fantasy bloom with variegated petals in pink/mauve/purple color combination and fill the center with a large swirl like you would see topping a cupcake (1 #1M tip is great for this). Add some silver dragees for drama and you're done.

Good luck.
