Latte Land

Latte Land
Latte Land was created for the grand opening of a twin-tower condo in Bellevue, WA. There were about 150 in attendance.
It's wrapped in chocolate plastic and has chocolate plastic roses on top that have been tipped with copper petal dust.
It's rich chocolate espresso cake with espresso Italian buttercream icing and filling. It was a hit.
From the editor:
If you'd like to try working with chocolate plastic or modelling chocolate, as it's also known, here's a recipe (from allrecipes.com):
* 16 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
* 3/4 cup light corn syrup
1. Melt chocolate in a large metal bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat, and stir in the corn syrup. The mixture will become sticky, but keep stirring until very well blended.
2. Spoon onto a piece of plastic wrap, and wrap tightly. Let stand at room temperature until firm before using. Overnight is best.
Use unsweetened cocoa powder on work surfaces to prevent sticking.

Michelle
