make my cake not so spongy for decorating

How do I make my cake not so spongy to decorate them with my fondant, even with the cardboard dividers, they seem to sink a little. can anyone help with this problem?

Hi Desiree,

It's really important to fill and crumb coat your cake then refrigerate overnight to let the filling firm up. This should prevent any sinking or bulging of the filling and allow you to cover with fondant.
