marshmallow frangipani cupcake topper

by Angela
(Australia)

I recently went to a 60th party where the cake was make of cup cakes, the butter icing is easy enough but on top were frangipani flowers made cut with marshmallows, I would like to make this for my wedding but don't know how to cut the marshmallow and shape into the flower.

From the editor:

Hi Angela,

You need to slice the marshmallows, dust liberally with powdered sugar (icing sugar) and shape each petal by hand. Overlap the bottom edge of one petal on another, until you have five in a fan shape, then roll them into each other and fan out the top until you like the shape.

We also have a great step-by-step tutorial for marshmallow fondant frangipanis that are jusst as easy to make.

Good luck.

Regards,
Michelle (editor)
