Mickey Mouse Cake

I made a from scratch triple layer funfetti cake (white cake with sprinkles in it) and frosted it with green buttercream frosting.
I made Mickey's body from a half of a ball pan and covered it in fondant. The Mickey head, hand and foot were Styrofoam balls wrapped in fondant. I made the back(sky) by padding a cardboard piece that I cut with fondant. Then I piped on the details in the grass and voila!
The kids loved it!

Hi Marie,
Awesome job on the mickey mouse cake. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Using Styrofoam for Mickey's head is a great idea.
When making top heavy elements for a cake, like Mickey, you can also make it totally edible by using Rice Krispies to model the shapes. Check out the technique in action on this Spiderman Cake.
Good luck.
