Motorcycle Cake
by Tanya
(Northumberland)
This Motorcycle Cake was for my husbands Grandad's 70th birthday.
He loved motorbikes when he was younger so I thought this was very fitting.
It is chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream covered in fondant.
I bought the bike from a local toy shop and hand painted the flames using gel colors.
From the editor:
Tanya doesn't say, but the stars are probably made from fondant. If you don't want to use fondant, you could re-create the stars using sugar cookie dough and a star cutter. As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, insert a wire or thin skewer into the bottom of each cookie.
To achieve flames without having fondant to paint on, you could make the flames using the multi color chocolate method.
Great cake Tanya. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Michelle (editor)
