I am trying to find the origin of great cake or Christmas cake Heavily fruited and with alcohol We in the Caribbean also serve it at weddings.

Hi June,

I have always believed the origin of fruit cake to be English. Having grown up in Australia, I am very familiar with the style of cake. It has always been a favorite at Australian weddings too.
