Parchment or Wax Paper

by William Bahrt

I do not bake many cakes, but when I do, I would like to use the paper on the bottom of the pan. My question is, Will wax paper serve the same purpose?? If so, is there anything I should do to ensure its effectiveness?

Parchment Vs Wax Paper

Hi William,

You can use either, but parchment does release the cake slightly better than wax paper. For either of them, spray the bottom and sides of the pan with non-stick cooking spray prior to lining the bottom of the pan.
