1. Bake your cakes using your favorite recipe. Tort and fill the 10" round cake then cut all the cakes in half across, to form semi-circles. Turn the 10" semi-circles onto their flat edge and glue together with buttercream, then use more buttercream to add one of the 8" semi-circles to each side Crumb coat all three cakes. Refrigerate for at least an hour, preferably overnight.

2. Add a top coat of blue buttercream and refrigerate while you make the head.

3. Mix up a batch of rice krispie play dough and let it sit for about 30 minutes, until a handfull will stick together and hold it's shape.
Make one football shape about 7" long for the head and one disc shape about 2 1/2" high and 3" across for the neck.

4. Cut a length of bamboo skewer about 5" long and insert into the neck. Let the pieces set for about 30 minutes.

5. Pinch a nose shape on the face while the rice krispies are still a little pliable and push the head onto the other end of the skewer. Refrigerate the head until completely firm, about an hour or so.

6. In the top of the cake, dig out a shallow bowl shape the same size as the neck - this is where the head will sit. Add the diamond details on the shoulders with white buttercream.

7. Melt about a cup of white candy melts and tint blue to match the buttercream. Paint 2 coats of the melted chocolate all over the head and allow to set, about 15-20 minutes. When the chocolate is completely set, push the head into position, making sure that you push it down until only the top 1/2" of the neck is showing.

8. Add the logo to the front of the unifom. You can do this with yellow and black buttercream, or by using the multi color chocolate method.
Finish by spreading some blue buttercream around the base of the cake to look like water that the power ranger is emerging from.
Your Power Rangers Cake is done! Now go get a well deserved cup of coffee and sit back for a few minutes to admire your handiwork. Remember to take a picture while your masterpiece still looks perfect.
