refrigerating chocolate ganache

Does a cake or cupcakes topped with ganache need to be refrigerated?

From the editor:

Cakes topped with ganache can stored at room temperature for up to 48 hours. Howver, if you live somewhere very humid or hot, I would recommend storing them in the refrigerator until about an hour or so before serving.
