Royal Icing
by Madeline
(UK)
Hi,
I made royal icing last night for my Christmas cake, using the quantities given in the recipe I used - I added a bit of vanilla extract to make it taste nicer, and then covered the cake.
It doesn't seem to have hardened up much though, it is soft firm but has not gone really hard like I thought it was supposed to. Will it harden over time, or do I need to start again, or do something else with it, like refrigerate ?
Many thanks
Madeline
From the editor:
Hi Madeline,
The royal icing will harden, but it takes a couple of days for this to happen.
