Sesame Street Cake

Sesame Street Cake
This Sesame Street Cake was my first attempt at a birthday cake. It was for my daughter's 1st birthday.
I baked 2 vanilla packet mixes into the one tin, once cooled I cut it into 3 cubes.
I used butter icing underneath each cube to ensure that it didn't fall off the board or for the "A" to fall. I stacked my cubes & then tinted my butter icing into 3 colours and iced each cube. I used smarties for the letters and borders.
Ernie, Big Bird & Elmo were my first attempt with modelling paste, I made these a month prior to the party as they store well.
Once the 3 cubes were fully iced I then placed Ernie, Big Bird & Elmo on top.
From the editor:
Awesome job Michelle. You're very brave attempting modelling paste on your first cake. I love the characters on your Sesame Street Cake. And the smarties add a really fun detail.
Thanks so much for sharing your adorable cake with us.
Regards,
Michelle (editor)
