Can Snowman Cupcakes Cure The Winter Blues?
These little guys can! Their smiley happy faces and cutie-pie charm will make you forget all about the arctic chill outside..
The kids will love helping you make the snowmen to go on top of the cupcakes. All you need are some marshmallows, a few Tootsie Rolls ® and some pretzels and you’re set to decorate! This is a great edible craft project for a rainy afternoon that’s as much fun to make as it is to eat.
Of course, these jaunty little fellows also look great dressing up a single large cake, whether it’s one tier or five. So have some fun with this quick and easy decorating idea.
And don't forget to pick up some great, co-ordinating party supplies

ingredients for perfect Snowman Cupcakes
- Cupcakes – you can’t go wrong with Perfect Lemon Cake
- White Buttercream
- Tootsie Rolls ® - one for each snowman
- Regular size marshmallows – three for each snowman
- Pretzel sticks – two for each snowman
- Two colors of gummy candies for nose and buttons
- Fruit roll-ups for the scarves.
- A black candywriter
Assemble Your Snowman Cupcakes
- frost each cupcake with white frosting.
- take three marshmallows and flatten one of them a little.
- thread the flattened marshmallow all the way to one end of a pretzel stick, then the two remaining marshmallows, leaving the excess pretzel intact.
- Gently push the excess pretzel into a cupcake to hold the snowman upright.
- Split another pretzel in half and push one half into either side, half way down the second marshmallow, as shown (below, left).
- Cut tiny pieces of gummy candies in two different colors for the nose and buttons.
- gently push a piece into position for the nose and three for the buttons, as shown (below, center). The candies will stick to the marshmallows by themselves.
- Cut a Tootsie Roll ® in two pieces (1/3 and 2/3).
- Use the smaller piece for the top of the hat and flatten and shape the larger piece into a hat brim and push the two together to make a hat and attach with frosting.
- Cut a 4 ½” x ½ “ piece of fruit roll-up and tie around the snowman’s neck for a scarf. If you like, cut a little fringe into each end for some detail.
- Use the black candywriter to add two dots for eyes, as shown (below, right).

Your Snowman Cupcakes are now complete! Now go get a well deserved cup of coffee and sit back for a few minutes to admire your handiwork. Remember to take a picture while your masterpiece still looks perfect.
