strawberry cake filling

need a recipe for strawberry filling,with frozen strawberries.the ones I have found on line are with fresh and also found one but was not thick enough,and was not red anymore.please help

Hi Jett,

Here's my favorite recipe, that works with fresh or frozen fruit:

Fruit filling:

2 1/2 - 3 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
3/4 c sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 c water, divided (1/4 cup and 3/4 cup)

In a large saucepan combine fruit, sugar and 3/4 cup water and cook over medium heat until almost boiling. Mix cornstarch in remaining 1/4 cup cold water and add to pan, stirring constantly until boiling and thickened. Cool before using.
