How do you do the fancy icing for Thomas and how do you join the parts together??

Hi Anneke,

The Thomas cake was submitted by a visitor, but I can help you with some answers:

The fancy icing is just piping with a star tip (#18 or similar) all over the cake. Pipe the stars very close together so there are no gaps.

The pieces are joined together with buttercream frosting. Just think of it like buttering bricks for a brick wall. Cover the surface of one piece with frosting and push the two pieces gently together.
