Toy Story Cake

by Nicole
(Weatherofrd, Oklahoma, USA)

This Toy Story Cake was my 5th cake.

I used yellow cake for the face and chocolate cake for the hat. White whipped frosting for the face and chocolate frosting for the hat.

From the editor:

Great cake Nicole. Thanks for sharing it with us. It's a great example of what can be achieved using simple decorating techniques, without the need for a bunch of special equipment.

If you like Nicole's Toy Story Cake, you can achieve the look using store bought decorator's gel or different colors of buttercream.

This style of cake would also lend itself well to a technique known as frozen buttercream transfer. It's a lot like the multi color chocolate decorating, only with buttercream, which us then placed in the freezer to allow for easier handling.
