Using a heating core

When using a heating core, how do you remove the core after the cake is baked? Would the core stick to the cake or do you leave it in the cake and remove it after the cake is eaten?

From the editor:

Here's a few tips that will make using a heating core a little easier:

1. Make sure to grease both the inside and the outside of the core really well.

2. Remove the heating core after cooling the cake for 15 minutes on a cooling rack and replace the center piece of cake and allow to finish cooling.

3. If you've greased the heating core well, you won't have any trouble removing it. You just lift it out of the cake, remove the piece of cake and put it back in place to continue cooling.

Good luck.
