Wilton Cross Pan Cake

by Leanne
(canada)

I have to make a stacked cake with the cross cake on top and a slab cake at the bottom.

The cross is in blue butter cream icing and the bottom in white.

Do I ice the cross before putting it on top of the slab cake?

From the editor:

Hi Leanne,

There's a number of ways top handle this, but the easiest would be to place the cross on a cake on it's own cake circle (cut to fit) and ice it first. Then position it on the slab cake and secure with frosting.

Finish by piping a border around the cross to hide the edge of the cake circle.

Regards,
Michelle (editor)
