WWE Wrestling Cake

by Tanya
(Northumberland, England)

My brother requested a WWE Wrestling themed cake for his 13th birthday. After searching through internet images, I finally settled on this design.

Not perfect but I'm getting better (this is only my 2nd cake).

The cake was made of layered carrot and sponge filled and coated in buttercream. It was then covered with fondant.

The corner posts are pieces of dowel cut to size and covered in fondant, while the ropes were made using strawberry laces.

What you don't see on the picture is the 'Raw' and 'Smackdown' logo's on either side. I did lots of research and ended up printing templates off the internet so I knew exactly what they looked like. The WWW logo in the center was drawn by hand using a food coloring pen which was then piped over in black royal icing.

From the editor:
If you would like everything on your cake to be totally edible, you could re-produce the corner posts using chocolate dipped bread sticks.

Awesome cake Tanya, thanks for sharing it with us.
